January 2017 - WEX Photographer of the Year Competition
Welcome back to The Togcast for 2017, we wanted to let you know about a great competition run by our friends at Wex Photographic (www.wexphotographic.com). The 'Wex Photographer of the Year' competition is a little different to your normal competition...
It runs weekly on Twitter using the hashtag #WexMondays and via the @WexTweets account. Basically every monday you can submit an image made during the previous 7 days. Each week a winner, two runners up and a shortlist is chosen by Wex. Not only does the weekly winner get a £20 Wex gift voucher but they also redeem 100 points, with the 2nd and 3rd place pics also receiving points. Over the course of the year the points are tallied up and eventually a overall winner is crowned based on points gained. The prizes for the top 3 at the end of the year are:
Overall Winner: £1,500 Wex Voucher (ooh, imagine what you could spend that on!)
2nd Place: £500 Wex Voucher (that would help with a new lens!)
3rd Place: £250 Wex Voucher (treat yourself to a new tripod, bag, filter set!)
We love this competition because it encourages a wide variety of entries from different genres and in different styles. It also encourages and rewards consistency over the course of a year. So, why not get involved and take part in #WexMondays on Twitter. You can read more about the competition on the Wex blog, just click here.
*Not on Twitter? Been thinking of joining?? We'd encourage you to do so, there is a great community of like minded photographers on Twitter to share your images with, discuss techniques and location with, and of course you can keep up with all the Togcast news (@TheTogcast) as well! It's really simple to use and sign up, why not sign up here.
